This tutorial will go over the steps required to make a bootable Linux USB drive from macOS. We will be using the built in ‘dd’ command to do this. This tutorial is going to take place in the macOS terminal app. I will be using an ISO of CentOS 8, but any other Linux distribution will be the same steps.
Today we are going to learn how to install Windows 10 from scratch. This guide assumes that you already have an ISO or a bootable USB created. If you are using a non Windows OS, the ISO file can be downloaded from here. On a Windows Installation you can download the ISO or create a bootable USB using the Windows Media Creation Tool which can be found here.
Recently I came across a mac mini that failed an OS update. Luckily, macOS comes with a very handy, very easy to use recovery utility. This machine was updating to the latest (as of September, 2020) update to macOS Catalina 10.15.7.
The only thing this mac was doing after powering on was going into the install, encountering a problem, asking for a restart, and doing the entire process again.
